In Spain : ASEFA

SMABTP established itself in Spain in 1989 by acquiring the insurance company Asefa, founded in 1972. The Spanish subsidiary offers construction insurance, civil liability insurance, and contract bond insurance products. Asefa also offers innovative services such as three-year habitability insurance and the Click online service. Today, it is a key player in construction insurance in Spain.

In Portugal : VICTORIA

Since 2017, SMA Belgium has been offering solutions tailored to professionals in the construction sector in the Benelux. SMA Belgium distributes comprehensive construction site insurance, civil liability and ten-year liability insurance to project owners, contractors, architects and design offices in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

In Ivory Coast: SMABTP Côte d’Ivoire SA

The SMABTP group's Ivorian subsidiary began operations in 2018. SMABTP Côte d’Ivoire SA draws on its construction expertise to support French and local construction companies, whether or not they are members of the Group, that wish to develop their business in this country.

In the Netherlands : DUPI

In 2024, one year after acquiring a majority stake in DUPI, the SMABTP group confirmed its presence in the Netherlands by acquiring 100% of the capital of this insurance broker. A major player in Marine & Transport and Construction insurance in the Netherlands, DUPI has also recently developed a Property Damage insurance branch. The group is recognized by its customers thanks to the solid technical skills of its teams based in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Antwerp, and its commitment to providing the best possible support to its customers throughout Europe.

In the Netherlands : Woningborg

In 2023, the SMABTP group acquired 50% of the capital of Woningborg, a leading Dutch company providing surety insurance (performance bonds) for builders and home buyers in the Netherlands. This acquisition will strengthen the long-term future of Woningborg, which was founded over 40 years ago, and diversify its services to support the Dutch construction sector and guarantee the future of the Dutch new-build housing market for members of professional associations.

In Germany : SMABTP Germany

In 2023, through its majority stake in DUPI, the SMABTP Group will also establish a presence in Germany. The new office in Cologne will offer comprehensive insurance solutions specially designed for the German construction insurance market. The commercial and operational aspects of this new venture will be managed by DUPI, which is recognized by its customers for the solid technical expertise of its teams.

The SMABTP Group overseas

The SMABTP Group is also present outside mainland France through representatives in the French overseas departments and territories. For almost 25 years, they have been supporting construction professionals in the departments of Guadeloupe, Martinique, and French Guiana, as well as in Réunion and the communities of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, French Polynesia, and New Caledonia.

Arundo Re

Since 2023, SMABTP has held, in consortium with MACSF, 75% of the capital of Arundo Re (formerly CCR Re), France's second-largest reinsurer. With a presence in 80 countries worldwide, Arundo Re operates in the traditional property and casualty, life and health insurance lines, as well as in certain specialty lines (credit, marine, aviation, space, agriculture).

Expansion driven by innovation

The SMABTP group's international expansion is also based on its capacity for constant innovation.
